The Wafflesncream x Pith Africa Collab speaks to the undeniable growth of African skate culture. As an outspokenly dedicated skate brand Waf. have been on the forefront of skate and street culture expansion not just in Nigeria but in west Africa as a whole. I mean, just this year alone aside hosting a number of skating challenges and releasing their “Waf. babes” capsule the brand boasts off Collab’s with Dakotas, thisisus and kasi flavour10 to name a few. these collaborations and the events held to celebrate the releases are very Intentional from the brand it’s what drives their ever growing community of like-minded creatives. Pith have also seen their fair share of activities this year. from a couple of new drops and being spotted on Rema for his Native land cover to hosting a giveaway on the mainland in Lagos. Pith Africa has been very much involved in putting Nigerian street wear on the actual streets. OUR HOMECOMING FESTIVAL 2023; EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

5 years running, and our homecoming festival has continued to remain a major platform for a cultural exchange between Africa and the rest of the world. they don’t look like slowing down anytime soon. as we gear-up for the 2023 edition of the 3 day event, we look into what should be expected, where it will take place, who will show up, and just everything we know so far about our homecoming festival 2023 WHEN IS THE EVENT? Our homecoming festival is taking place this coming Easter weekend. the 4-day event will hold from Friday the 7th of April till Monday the 10th. the main Activities however, will kick-off on the Saturday the 8th of April with the pop-up. the Annual event usually falls on the month of April. the exact date just differs. WHERE WILL IT HOLD? Our homecoming festival 2023 will take place in four locations in Victoria island Lagos, Nigeria. including the pick-up spot for the Art tour. ALÁRA store at 12A Akin Olugbade street VI, The Hall at 16 Musa Yar’adua street VI Nordic Hotel at 258 Kofo Ayobami street VI(the pick-up spot for the Art tour), and Harbour Point at 4 Wilmot point road VI. are the confirmed locations for the event. WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT HOMECOMING 2023? The Homecoming festival has become the acclaimed cultural exchange platform, because it showcases aspects that define African and Nigerian contemporary culture. from Pop-up’s to panel talks, live concerts, art tours, and even a celebrity football match up. the 2023 homecoming is packed. the pop up will take place at the ALÁRA store, showcasing indigenous and foreign brands. from Stussy to Motherlan, to thirsty Lab, FREE THE YOUTH, WAFFLESNCREAM, Patta and so many more. The panel talks will host discussions between industry stake holders in the Nigerian and Trans African Music and Fashion scene. last year it was the Motherlan boys and Nigerian music industry stars, asa asika and SARZ that held the stage. the main event that draws the most attention however, is the live show, that will take place at Harbour point on Sunday the 9th of April 2023. WHO WILL BE THERE? With more to be announced, the already pulsating line up features Ayra starr, Young john, Lojay, Odumodublvck, Oxlade, Psycho YP, Odunsi (the engine) and many more The event will also be covered by the biggest indeginous and international fashion and lifestyle blogs. From Dazed, to I-D, VOGUE, HYPEBEAST, teen vogue, NATIVE, and TheGuardian. there will be no lack of reputable press. basically anyone looking for the best Nigerian and Lagos Street style has to offer will be there.
