THESE SHOWS STOOD OUT AT LONDON FASHION WEEK 2024

The recently concluded London Fashion Week 2024 is the first of the events that happens twice a year.

first in February, then in September. Fashion Week in London is organized by the British Fashion Council, backed by some sponsors (most recently Mercedes).

although considered by some to be the last entry in the BIG 4 fashion weeks, the others being; Milan, Paris, and New York.

LFW has always held promise within it’s rich pool of trained designers.

This year was no different.

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the shows, and here are some of the brands that impressed us the most.

These brands brought their A-game and showcased heritage-inspired collections

avant-garde designs, and theatrical presentations. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the top picks.

BURBERRY: Bottega Green to Burberry Green

First up, we have the legendary Burberry. And let me tell you, fam, that their third collection by the creative genius, Daniel Lee, hit all the right notes.

Lee didn’t just tap into British heritage in a cliché way, not at all. He gave us earth-toned colors

unique fabric choices, and layering skills that left us weak in the knees.

But it wasn’t just the clothes stealing the limelight; the star-studded audience and cast added a touch of glam too

with the likes of Skepta, Olaoluslawn, Lil Yatchy, Tiwa Savage, and many more.

DILARA FINDIKOGLU: Breaking Down Toxic Masculinity

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the London fashion scene, you wouldn’t have missed the name Dilora Findikoglu.

This trailblazing designer presented a collection that has been dubbed “the end of toxic masculinity.” And it was her biggest showcase yet.

With theatrical flair, Findikoglu repurposed ensembles to create a truly unforgettable experience on the runway.

This is one designer that’s taking the fashion world by storm, my friends.

SIMONE ROCHA: Where Sex Meets Death

Simone Rocha, the mastermind behind this fall’s ready-to-wear collection, gave us a head-turning show.

With themes of sex and death, Rocha took us on a journey through her final installment of a three-part series.

A collaborative couture collection with Jean Paul Gaultier, a stunning collection from last season, and now a fall collection that leaves you craving more.

JW ANDERSON: Embracing the “Uncool”

Get ready for some wit, humor, and out-of-this-world innovation, because JW Anderson is here to challenge the status quo.

Their latest collection had everyone talking about the grandma wigs that adorned some of the models.

But let’s not forget the incredible clothes and intentional design language that lay beneath the laughter.

JW Anderson reminds us to embrace the “uncool” and dare to be different.

(I know you’ve probably heard that line before, but trust me when is say no one is doing (different) like JW Anderson right now)

TOLU COKER: Breaking Barriers with “Broken English”

In a sea of designers, Tolu Coker stood out with her collection titled “Broken English.”

This talented designer drew inspiration from Ghanaian hawkers, Sokoto trousers (pronounced sho-ko-to) worn by Yoruba men in Nigeria, and the geography of Accra, Ghana.

Tolu Coker takes us on a cultural journey through her designs, celebrating Nigerian fashion and heritage in style.

It’s refreshing to see the fashion world embrace diverse voices.

From heritage-inspired looks to avant-garde designs, these collections empower us to discover, express, and embrace our unique style.

Discover, express, and empower.
