5 MENSWEAR TRENDS SET TO TAKE-OVER IN 2024 FROM PARIS FASHION WEEK

We’ve made a list of the top 5 trends set to take over next year

according to Paris fashion week.

Paris fashion week for menswear spring/summer 2024

kicked off with the highly anticipated Louis Vuitton show

on Tuesday the 20th of June

and ran up until Sunday the 25th of June.

we’ve combed the shows and picked out the top trends to watch out for in 2024.

From the colorful and vibrant Dior Men’s collection

to the explosive and grim Rick Owens display

down to the conceptually brilliant work

by the winners of the 2023 Woolmark prize, Lagos Space Programme.

That being said, let’s get get straight into it

5 menswear trends set to take over in 2024 from Paris fashion week.

HIGH WAISTED PANTS

Loewe

This is definitely the stand-out trend from the 2024 spring/summer menswear

on display in paris.

returning from the 80’s and 90’s

high waited pants have always had a retro label attached to them

during PFW we saw designers give contemporary iterations of this trend.

Rick Owens and Jonathan Anderson at Loewe made strong cases

for the high-waisted trend.

LOW CUT TOPS

Louis Vuitton

low cut tops is traditionally a womenswear staple,

but in the spirit of blurring the lines of gender in clothing

the low neckline top found it’s way to the runways of Paris.

Kim Jones at Dior pushed for the low cut V neck shirt

and the likes of Paul smith and Matthew Williams at Givency

proposed the waistcoat styled bare

to give a v neckline illusion.

it’s summer after all, it’s okay to show off a some collar bone

SHORT TROUSERS, SHORTER SHORTS

Issey Miyake

We see yet another retro trend coming back

in the form of short trousers.

short or “jumping” trousers styled in a number of ways

formal and casual, was a feature on runways.

shorts are a spring/summer favorite

and they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon

except higher up your thighs apparently.

EMBELLISHMENTS

Menswear has become much more expressive and experimental

this was expressed in the range of embellishments in the finishes

from the runways in paris.

from crystal covered shirts and pants, to cabochon jewel covered tweed

and full damoflague print outfits.

embellishments were all the range this fashion week.

EXTENDED SLEEVES

Your sleeves can be longer apparently

the extended sleeve is a play on traditional menswear silhouette.

exaggerated sleeves are an Avant-Garde standard

and a detachment from boring menswear looks.

we saw good number of extended sleeves on the runway in Paris.

so there you have it

Which of these 2024 fashion week trends are you excited for?
