WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT PHARRELL WILLIAMS DEBUT FOR LOUIS VUITTON

Pharrell Williams debut for Louis Vuitton was nothing short of grand. by far the most anticipated show of this fashion week pharrell’s L.V show featured a huge runway glorious live music and a star studded audience all tied together in a spectacular presentation. the new creative director of the French luxury brand showcased the men’s spring-summer 2024 collection at the Pont Neuf in Paris to kick off the Paris fashion week. the invitation for the show dubbed “L.Vers” was a newspaper print out off the New York times announcing the collection dedicated to “lovers” on the front page. THE COLLECTION speaking of the actual collection one major highlight of the garments on the runway appeared to be a digitalized damoflage motif  seen on pharrell himself as he walked out at the end of the show and a number of high profile attendees including kim kardashian spotted in a cozy athleisure rendition of the print. the motif repeatedly appeared on hoodies, bags, jackets and suits through-out the collection. the collection features a total of 75 looks with ample accessories including bags and luggage boxes . the feedback for the collection so far has been mixed and inevitable comparisons have been drawn to Pharrell’s late predecessor. the truth is, the collection cannot truly be faulted. at most, critics claim it is not “spectacular” or “mind blowing”. but a reoccurring accusation from the fashion community is the fact that the actual designer/designers responsible for the garments will never get the recognition, because as we all know pharrell has no form of fashion education. this is not a new accusation against modern creative directors and the fashion houses appointing them. the late Virgil Abloh was not spared from the critics either yet ended up being a huge success at the house. This is a decent start for the multi-hyphenate and it is way to early to decide his fate at the luxury French house. check out some looks from Pharrell Williams debut collection below what do you think about Pharrell’s first collection as creative director for louis Vuitton?
